We are at 25 days from XIII MOC WRE,
Orienteering event organized by COC – Clube de Orientação do
Centro that has the 1st stage counting to the World Ranking. The
competition will have two stages in Marinha Grande King’s forest,
on 25 and 26 of February, and a night urban Sprint stage at 19h30 of
Saturday, in Marinha Grande city.
For the competition were prepared 25
different courses for each day, with 122 forest controls for Saturday
WRE Long Distance stage and 102 forest controls for Sunday Middle
Distance stage.
The event is open to everyone willing
to learn an exciting sport, practiced in full contact with nature,
environmentally friendly and performed at each one speed. For this,
there are four open courses adapted to different physical and
technical skills. To those willing to try for the first time but
without enough confidence to go alone to the forest, the organization
offers monitors to help to get acquainted with the sport.
The invitation for registration is
open, using the e-mail xiiimoc.wre2012@gmail.com or, online, using
the oasis system (click at the competition web page for further

At this moment we count already with
athletes from 23 countries summing up 540 registrations, being 362
foreign athletes, from 121 clubs distributed by the 38 classes
available. The event will contribute for the region economy, which is
what the region and the country needs.
There already confirmed some of the
best world athletes and some national teams that will help to
increase the competitiveness and improve the technical level of the
event. Individual names such as Olav Lundanes, Scott Fraser, Øystein
Kvaal Østerbø, Kiril Nikolov, Mattias Karlsson and world champion
and WRE number 1, Thierry Gueorgiou are registered in Men Elite,
