WTOC 2016: Netherlands

Formed by the duo Mark Heikoop and Gabby Op De Weegh, the Netherlands was one of the countries present in the 1st World Trail Orienteering Championships, in 2004. Back to Sweden, Mark Heikoop wasn't particularly happy, missing the final of TempO by 28.5 seconds and recording a result not compatible with his value in the PreO competition, Open Class.

+ Even without renewing itself, the Netherlands is back on track, which can only be seen as a positive sign.

- The 51st place of Mark Heikoop is his worst result ever in six participations in the World Championships. The long four-years break - after the extraordinary 6th place in 2012 (Dundee, Great Britain) - proved particularly harmful to the athlete's goals.
